How to Get to Alton Abbey
The Abbey grounds are open for visitors to wander around at any time in daylight hours.
The Visitors’ Centre is open from 8.00am to 5.00pm
Please note that on a few days each year, the Abbey is closed to all members of the public while the monks have a community quiet day.
Please check the Abbey Calendar, on the right-hand-side of the page, to make sure that the Abbey is open on the day you intend to visit.
Services in the Abbey Church
All are welcome to join the Community at these daily services. Weekly service sheets are posted to our homepage. Each service sheet give details of Mass & Office times, liturgical calendar, settings etc for that week.
Coffee With The Community
Relax and join the community for tea or coffee in the Visitors’ Centre immediately after morning Mass.
Spiritual Direction & Confession
Auricular confession and sacramental reconciliation are available on request.
Some of the monks are available to those who wish to explore having a spiritual director, soul friend, or companion to assist them in the development of their personal spirituality.
Please contact the Abbot in the first instance.
